The World Series of Poker Main Event started July 5 with 6420 players. Each participant
paid $10,000 buy in which allowed a total prize pool of $60,348,000.
Just over 10 days of extreme table action filled with late nights, decisions made
behind dark glasses, and daring plays the final table is set. In poker folklore
these people are known as the November Nine. They will return to play at the Rio
All Suites Hotel and Casino. These nine will have the chance to win the gold bracelet
and more than $7.5 million dollars in first place prize money.
We will list the lucky nine below. They really are lucky because even 9th place in this
yearly tournament that sees the world’s best nets over $1 million in prize monies. Poker
afficionados are bitter sweet as crowd favorite, Daniel Negreanu, just missed the final
table. He finished 11th.
