Business man, and soon to be President of the United States, Donald Trump won the electorate vote Tuesday night, November 8th, 2016. His odds of winning? 20% opening day…

Early on Tuesday morning, the New York Times gave Hillary Clinton the lead. This even resulted in the Trump campaign launching a lawsuit against the state of Nevada for allowing early voting (source). With a keen eye for opportunity, some people thought to wage a bet on the event.

A gambler from London, U.K., please a bet of £200,000 on the online better website, Spreadex, on the underdog, Trump. Polls closed Tuesday night showing the state of Wisconsin to clinch the deal with 276 electorate votes. Senator Hillary Clinton conceded by phone at 2:30 am EST.

This gambler, having taken a chance with lady luck grabbed the gold and stands to cash in on £500,000 in addition to his initial £200,000.

With multiple six-figure bets placed from around the globe, Connor Campbell, financial analyst with the betting site Spreadex, had this to say, “It’s official, the US election is now our single biggest betting event ever and we are seeing some huge bets being placed, including one customer who has staked £200,000 on a Trump victory.”
