As a result of #Election2016 protests have erupted all over the U.S. Nevada, alongside California, Oregon, and Washington, lit up the west coast in a sea of blue. This, amid the country’s red results Tuesday night, November 8th, 2016. It’s no wonder, with the extreme hate rhetoric Trump campaigned on, that Democratic states would turn up to protest and contest the results.

The Las Vegas, Rock ‘N’ Roll 5K, 10k, and half-marathon take place tomorrow, Sunday, November 12th, 2016. A view of Google Maps will show us the ending point of the 10K marathon sandwiches itself between The Venetian hotel and Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. The problem with this location ending is simply anti-Trump protesters have organized meeting places at The LINQ, located next to Harrah’s. A map of the event’s path can be found here.

Other protests have gathered in groups attempting to provide solidarity and safe spaces for the individuals feeling oppressed by the 2016 Presidential Election outcome.

Protester, Alicia Scott, told News 3 Las Vegas, she expects 2,000-3,000 people in attendance of the event. The peaceful anti-Trump march will begin on the streets in front of the LINQ Hotel and Casino, and end at the Trump Hotel and Casino.

The focus of the protesters: A demand to be placed on the Electoral College to honor the results of the popular vote December 19th, when they go to cast their ballots. This would change the results of the election to a vote for Democratic Nominee, Senator Hillary Clinton.
